From the College Captains

Ella Somarriba and Claudia Sutherland

We cannot believe that we have reached the end of another term, our final full term as students at Clayfield. This term has absolutely flown by with lots of fun events, some of the highlights being Inter-house Athletics, QG fixtures, Opus 3, the arrival of the lovely Lochie and Faith Week, all despite the week we spent in lockdown.

As we look towards graduating we have begun to discuss what we will miss most about the school. The key thing everyone seems to agree upon is the connections we have formed with both the younger girls and our peers at the College. It is truly a unique feeling to be able to walk around the school and greet so many familiar faces. We will treasure these moments for years to come.

The College has come a long way in our years of attendance, from the construction of the middle school years building in 2016 to the recent movement of locker rooms, it has been a longer journey than we’ve perhaps realised. Like the rest of the Clayfield community, we were so excited to discover Clayfield’s plans to implement parallel learning in the near future. Whilst we won’t be at the College to see its success, we look forward to watching and celebrating with the College from afar.

With the countdown to external exams on, signalling an approaching end to our Clayfield journey, we aim to cherish our remaining time together. Although our legacy will be based on  the efforts made throughout the year, we hope with our remaining time we can leave a lasting impact, passing the light onto the next generation of College seniors.
