From the Principal

Dr. Andrew Cousins

As the term draws to a close, it is time to recharge as we take a well-earned pause after an action-packed term. The upcoming break will allow many of us to slow down and allow us to re-energize our drive and motivation.

Today our Secondary Students are competing in the QGSSSA Athletics Championships at QSAC. I congratulate all of the students for the hard work, dedication, and commitment they have put into their training over the past few months. I would also like to thank our Head of Health, Wellness and Sport, Christine Barnes, and all coaches and staff who have supported the girls with their training.

This week I was pleased to announce that the College will begin the transition to a coeducational school in 2023 and offer families the best of coeducation and single-sex education using the distinctive Parallel Learning model.

There is much work to do before we commence Parallel Learning for Year 7 boys and girls in 2023, and I expect you will have many questions along the way. We have opened a Frequently Asked Questions page on the College website, and it will be regularly updated as more details are settled.

If you have a particular question about the College’s transition to full coeducation and Parallel Learning, we have set up a special email address to ensure we answer your question as promptly as possible. Please send your email to  questions@clayfield.qld.edu.au.

We will also arrange year group parent meetings to discuss the finer detail of how these initiatives will impact your children. I will send invitations once the dates in Term 4 are set.

I am excited for the future of Clayfield College as we enter this new era of education for the whole family, and I look forward to travelling the journey with you.

Staff Farewells

I would like to take this opportunity to thank and wish Kiki Kato and Ella Platt all the best as they head off to the next chapter in their career.

Tina Mills will be taking long service leave for Term 4. Maddy Jones will be on maternity leave as of Term 4; we wish Maddy and her family all the best with the new arrival.

I hope you have a safe and restful break, returning refreshed and motivated to embrace the Clayfield experience at the start of Term Four.
