It covers many criteria beyond academic and encourages personal, social, and emotional growth in all who participate. We had a great week.

Mrs Andrea Chamberlain

Humanities Learning Area Facilitator

Australian Business Week was a weeklong program that was run for those students who are enrolled in any humanities subjects, ranging from Business Management, Legal Studies, Economics, Accounting and VCAL. The main idea of the program is to make different students, with different personalities, work together and move towards a common goal.

Throughout the week students were separated into groups, where they worked as a collective to ensure all tasks were completed. The tasks included were to create a product that would be promoted by the business, make an advertisement video about the product, write a full company report, and create a Trade display that talked about the company and the product.

From this program I gained the ability to work with others outside my immediate friendship group. I was able to understand that each person had different strengths and weaknesses, and that we are able to help each group in different ways.

Altogether, the program is a great way for students to learn the responsibility of running a business, promote a product/service and how they need to work as a team. The ABW program is a fun way to understand different aspects of a business and hope they all work together to make that business successful.
