Student Behaviour Code

At ASC we are actively commited to providing a safe, supportive and responsive learning environments for everyone. We teach and model the behaviours we value in our students. Three key aspects of the Department of Education's Behaviour Code centre around:

Respect

▪ treat one another with dignity;

▪ speak and behave courteously;

▪ cooperate with others;

▪ develop positive and respectful relationships and think about the effect on relationships before acting;

▪ value the interests, ability and culture of others;

▪ dress appropriately by complying with the school uniform or dress code; and

▪ take care with property.

Safety

▪ model and follow departmental, school and/or class codes of behaviour and conduct;

▪ negotiate and resolve conflict with empathy;

▪ take personal responsibility for behaviour and actions;

▪ care for self and others; and

▪ avoid dangerous behaviour and encourage others to avoid dangerous behaviour.

Engagement

▪ attend school every day (unless legally excused);

▪ arrive at school and class on time;

▪ be prepared for every lesson;

▪ actively participate in learning; and

▪ aspire and strive to achieve the highest standards of learning.

We expect all students to comply with the Student Behaviour Code.

Deputy Principal (Stage 6)

Turnitin

All Stage 6 students will now be required to use Turnitin when submitting their assessments and classwork. In Week  3 of this term, a training session was held to prepare Year 11 for using Turnitin for future work.

Turnitin is web-based software that checks to make sure that students are submitting their own work (and not directly copying from other sources).

Changes to names of school bus routes

TfNSW are implementing the Transport Connected Bus programme using technologies to enable real-time tracking of school bus services, customer information and student counting functions. School bus route numbers will also be standardised across the state.

In Armidale, this means changes from displaying route descriptions (destination) to school route numbers. From Tuesday, 2 November, route numbers will be added to bus displays; and then from Tuesday, 30 November, only route numbers will be displayed. Physical routes along which school buses operate will not be affected.

Contact Edwards Coaches (James Cross: 6772 3116 / 0427 003 844) or Jeffery Buses (Karen Jeffery: 67713083) with questions.

2022 school travel applications are now open

Students who change address, school, or who have received an expired notification from TfNSW for their school travel entitlement should renew or update their details before the end of Term 4. A new application will need to be submitted if applying for a school travel pass for the first time, or if requesting additional travel entitlement because of changes to shared parental responsibility (ie custodial arrangements). This will ensure that schools can endorse applications and details.
