Grade Two
Last week the Grade Two’s had a brilliant week working on a whole range of Halloween related activities. This included: drawing and creating a witch, buying ingredients to create spooky potions, creating an enormous spider web filled with the students favourite activities, doing spider yoga and beginning to write a creative story about monsters.
The students have had the opportunity to engage with many different reading and writing pieces this week, these included:
- Comparing and discussing the differences between two texts.
- Writing an acrostic poem.
- Listing the features included in the students’ spider webs.
- Complete a story map and brainstorm for a creative story about monsters.
- Completing a retell of a text.
- Writing a short persuasive piece based on a read text.
In Maths the students have worked on topics such as money, addition, skip counting, multiplication, graphing and problem solving. The students will continue to work on a similar range of topics as we return to on-site learning.
Our students have loved participating in Google Classroom with their Specialist classes and participating in Sport, Music, Art, Technology and Language (Italian/Japanese). It has been great to hear the positive things that their teachers have been saying about the effort they have shown in completing their work online.
The Grade Two teaching team have been so impressed with the way the students and their families have persevered throughout the entirety of this remote learning period. We are proud of how flexible and enthusiastic the students have been. The Grade Two teachers have been amazed at all the fantastic work the students have submitted and we are so excited to see all of the students back at school full-time.
