Learning a new language can be an exciting and rewarding journey, and for those studying Italian, it is no exception. During Term 3 the focus for Prep students will be to continue developing a solid foundation of the language and developing essential communication skills. Common topics covered in Term 3 will be including greetings, introductions, basic conversation skills, numbers up to 30, colours, and describing everyday objects and animals.
Chants, songs and games will assist students in gaining confidence in oral pronunciation.
During term 3, students in grades One and Two will learn greetings, animals, and how to count to forty. Students will be reading and writing words and practicing pronouncing Italian words correctly. Students will also focus on the correct grammatical usage of adjectives. Chants, songs and games will assist students in gaining confidence in oral pronunciation.
Learning Italian isn't just about the language; it's also about exploring the beautiful Italian culture. Throughout Term 3, years Three and Four will be learn about traditions, history, and Italian geography. Students begin to expand their knowledge and skills acquired in Term 1 and 2. In this phase, the focus shifts towards enhancing vocabulary, developing more complex grammatical structures, and improving overall fluency in Italian. Topics covered during Term Three will include travel, food, describing people and places.
Years Five and Six students learn to broaden their knowledge and abilities from Term 1 and 2, The emphasis in this phase switches to expanding vocabulary, establishing more complex grammatical structures, and general proficiency in Italian. Travel, Italian culture, geography and describing locations will be among the topics studied in Term Three. Incorporate within the Italian Curriculum are fun activities like language games, quizzes, and cultural projects to keep the learning experience enjoyable and interactive.
