St Edward's NAIDOC Week 2023 Assembly

For Our Elders

Yaama families and community,

We send a warm invitation to our families and Elders to join us for our NAIDOC Week Assembly on Wednesday 9th August at the Primary Campus.

Our Welcome to Country and flag raising ceremony will begin at 12:30pm in the quadrangle space between the Office and Library at the Primary Campus. We will then move to the Hall to follow with our NAIDOC Assembly that will then be finished with a light lunch with our families and Elders. We look forward to seeing our community come together to celebrate our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community and Elders.

Maarubaa,

(thankyou

Yaluu!

Word of the Week

Each time a student uses our "Word of the Week" in the classroom they will be awarded a point and the student with the most points at the end of the term will receive a book to further expand their vocabulary.

We will publish our Word of the Week on Facebook and in the newsletter. Please support your child to use this word at home.

Term 3 Week 3 - "PANACEA"

Winter Uniform

As we welcomed our students back this term it was great to see so many students looking smart in their winter uniform. All students are reminded that they need wear their full winter uniform each day which  includes our school tie, long sleeve blue shirt and black leather shoes.

** We understand ties are currently out of stock at Lowes, however if you have a tie, it must be worn at all times.

Crossing Safety Matters

We remind parents and carers to please use the designated school pedestrian crossing when walking your child/ren to and from the school grounds. Please DO NOT take a short-cut across the road or walk in front of or behind buses. We ask that parents use the pedestrian crossing to show our children the correct way to cross the road.

We also remind parents NOT to park in the school bus zones during the hours of 8.00am - 9.30am and 2.30pm - 4.00pm.  If parents do park in the bus bay during these times, it can cause great frustration for the bus drivers and is also a safety concern.  Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students and school community safe.
