Physical Education
Hello Families!
Only week 5 and we have achieved so much this term already!!!
Division Finals
Congratulations to the students from year 5 & 6 that competed in our AFL, Soccer and Netball finals this week.
AFL - we came 2nd
Soccer - we came 3rd
Netball - we came 2nd
It is such a great achievement to get as far as we do and we are really proud of the way these individuals conduct themselves at these events and all of the effort they put in on the day.
Thank you to our parents Katie and Rachel for helping on these days.

Thank you to Lisa Noden for volunteering to help the students on the day. We wish them all the best for Friday.
Year 4-6 Athletics Trials
Our Athletics Trials are scheduled for this Wednesday 9th August at Box Hill Athletics Track (530 Elgar Rd, Box Hill). This day will be run with another local school, St Francis Xavier, although the students will only be against their fellow students.
Students are encouraged to wear their house colours for the event as this will be a house points day, rather than individuals receiving ribbons. The top 2 females and males from each event and age group, will go through to the District Athletics, scheduled for Thursday 7th September.
Everyone should have received an Operoo regarding this day. If your child has indicated they would like to run in the hurdles or 800m event (a list was sent via operoo) and you are able to drop them up at the venue directly, they will need to be there by 845am for a 9am start. Most students have confirmed this with me.
Otherwise we will have a few buses leaving St James to take the students to the venue at 9am.
Spotlight on learning in year 1-4:
This week we have been lucky enough to have Lydia Morgan come and teach the students about Wall Bal (think downball against a wall). The students have been incredibly engaged and enthusiastic about this new game and we look forward to seeing the students continuing to increase their skills over the coming weeks and during recess and lunch times.
If your child is keen on learning more about the game, please see details below.
Have a great week.
