Debating

Congratulations to our debating teams who travelled to Holy Cross Woollahra, Tuesday evening to compete in the inter school debating competition. We had two teams debating the controversial topic: that playing competitive sports does more harm than good for primary school students.

Our affirmative team came through victorious and it was such a close debate for our negative team who lost by the slightest of margins. Congratulations to all the students who participated, you were a credit to yourselves and St Margaret Mary’s.

Conference 1 Athletic Championships

On Monday we had 25 students from StMM represent our school at the Conference 1 athletics championships out at Barden Ridge Athletics Track. The torrential rain didn't dampen our spirits, and the students showed fantastic determination and lots of athletic ability competing in track and field events. I'm still awaiting the results from the championships but can confirm that we had multiple students make it through to the next round, they will be off to represent conference 1 against all the Sydney catholic school conferences in the diocese. Please see a list of all the students from our school that attended the event. A huge congratulations to all those students, you all made our school proud - Frenchie,  Anaïs, Jack W, Henry Hammer, Rosie, Issy, Bede, Reece, Iyla, Isabel Q, Edward, Flynn, Sienna, Geneva, Anthony, Gabriel, Emilia, Lucy, Joey, Oscar, Jack B, Maxim, Isabel H and Hailie.
