Having Fun While We Learn in Foundation P

Maths

In Mathematics, Foundation P have been learning about Subtraction.  

This week we have completed some fun handson tasks, craft based Maths lessons and listened to stories like; 'Pete the Cat and his Four Groovy Buttons.'

• We are learning to subtract numbers using concrete materials 
• We are learning to subtract one or more numbers using pictures.
• We are learning to subtract one or more without concrete materials (abstract).

Literacy 

As part of our morning block, the foundation students do Literacy Rotations. Students complete activities  based on decoding, fluency and encoding.  While the children are in their groups, one group is working with the teacher doing phonological awareness tasks and guided reading.
