Table Tennis

A bright day arose on the July 11 as we arrived at the Dandenong Table Tennis Association for the Cardinia/Casey North intermediate and senior table tennis. The tables filled with students from a variety of schools, our nerves slowly kicking in as each team prepared for their first match.

Both the boy’s senior and intermediate team played different schools which included, Berwick College, Fountain Gate Secondary College, Officer Secondary College, and Kambrya College. However, despite the tough competition that stood between them, intermediate and senior boys determination delivered, as they won all singles and doubles match played.

The Girls intermediate team played Officer Secondary College, Doveton College, Lakeside College, and alongside the senior girls who played Kambrya College. With each game being eventful with a few smashes and edge shots, the teamwork and skill displayed by both Intermediate and senior girls’ teams made us successful in wining against every school.

However, besides the intense matches, as a Year 9 and new student at Nossal it made me happy to witness the incredible support and sportsmanship we shared not only within our teams but also when playing with other students from different schools. Playing and watching players from all secondary levels and ages gave me an insight on the skill and potential of Nossal’s Table Tennis students and I hope we can all bring home the win in regionals!
