VTAC applications open on 31 July for current Year 12s

The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) opens for applications from current Year 12s on 31 July. We will be running an assembly for Year 12 students on 3 August to guide them through setting up a VTAC account and the VTAC course application process. Important information about tertiary applications (Victorian and interstate) is being shared by me with Year 12s in the Class of 2023 Careers channel on Teams – it is essential that Year 12s regularly check and carefully read the posts in this channel to stay informed and updated. As a qualified and registered Career Practitioner, I also provide advice and support to students on tertiary study and career pathways via one-on-one Careers counselling sessions – it is compulsory for every Year 12 to have at least one appointment with me this year to discuss their post-high school goals and students are to book a time to meet with me using the Careers Advisor appt tab at the top of the Careers channel on Teams.

Applications open for early offers to 2024 courses at University of Tasmania (UTAS)

The University of Tasmania's Schools Recommendation Program allows Australian year 12 students to apply for up to five courses and receive a conditional offer before their final results are released. Rather than an ATAR, the application is based on a school recommendation and the student’s Year 11 results. The program is open for applications to most courses offered at UTAS, including flexible double degrees, undergraduate degrees, and associate degrees, and students can select up to 5 course preferences as part of this program. Learn more about What courses are not part of the Program and how to apply to these courses. There are multiple application rounds and applications can be submitted right up to 6 October 2023. Refer to the 2023 Key Dates document and note that students who apply by 31 July will get an offer in the main round. Applicants will be notified of their success after UTAS has received the recommendation from their school. Find out more by visiting UTAS Schools Recommendation Program.
