MAKE YOURSELF HEARD! 

Students at Heathmont College, your voice and opinions are important. You have the power to draw public attention to issues in the local community that are relevant to you. The Creative Writing Club can support you in generating ideas, editing, and getting your article published.    

 

 

Junior Journalist Competition - Win up to $1000 

Write a story or create a video story about something that has happened or is about to happen in your school or local community. Your story should be factual. Check out kidsnews.com.au/junior-journ for tips.  

The free competition is open to children in Years 7-9 

 

Four categories: 

  • News story – print 
  • News story – video 
  • Sports story – print 
  • Sports story – video 

$1000 prize money for the winner of each category. 

 

Entries close on Friday, October 27.

Get your article published 

In addition to the Heathmont College Gazette and facebook page, we have an opportunity to get student news articles published in a local newspaper and can reach target special interest publications depending on the topic of your article. This opportunity is available to all students from Year 7 to 12. 

 

We will support you in making your voice heard.  

 

Drop into the Heathmont College Creative Writing Club every Monday lunchtime in C1.
