From the Head of Sport

Summer sport trainings are well under way and it is good to see that the majority of students are wearing the correct gear for training. Please remember that training is compulsory and you should be wearing BMGS gear to all training sessions.

A reminder to all students that while ISA games do not start officially until Week 2 Term 4, our MICs have been working to organise games for the first Saturday back at school, so please ensure you have your Saturday free.

All trainings recommence Week 1 Term 4 so please come prepared.

Have a great holiday. Stay safe and stay active!

Pathways Captain

This year we have introduced a Pathway Captain for sport and co-curricular activities. Congratulations to Sophia Chen (Year 11) who has been appointed to this position. As an elite athlete herself she understands the challenges of meeting the requirements of school as well as those of her sport.

Together, Sophia and I would like to support others in the same situation by making the school aware of the demands of their co-curricular activities. Please see Sophia if you would like to be a part of this group so that we can ensure your wellbeing is being addressed by the school.

Cricket

Mr Collins has been working hard to boost the First XI Cricket team. If you are interested in playing please email him on scollins@bmgs.nsw.edu.au

Tennis

Last Friday saw the first training for our tennis team. It was a great afternoon at Wentworth Falls Tennis courts with our new coach Nicole Arendt. Nicole is both an experienced player and coach and we welcome her to the BMGS coaching staff.

I am still looking for two more players so if you are still interested in joining the Tennis team, please come and see me at my office. Training will recommence on the first Friday back at school in Term 4 at 3:30pm.

Congratulations - Athletics

Congratulations to all the students who gained success at NSWCIS Athletics Championships that were held this week. A summary of the results will be added to the next newsletter.
