Paws as Therapy
Our class 5/6BG has recently introduced a Paws as Therapy program into our class with amazing results.
The main idea is to bring a dog into the classroom setting to assist our students with different needs like anxiety, behaviour self-regulation issues and general well-being, building a desire and enthusiasm to want to come to school.
Our dog's name is Keeper and he is a Bedlington Terrier with a warm and loving nature. His owner is Lyn and she brings him into school every Thursday morning.
The positive effect he has had on our students in a short time has been so encouraging.
We look forward to future visits, working with all the classes.
Remembrance Day 2022
Today, all of Woodland Road Public School students and staff held our Remembrance Day service to reflect on all of the people who have fought and died for Australia’s freedom.
We showed respect by standing for a minute in silence, to acknowledge all people who have served our country and sacrificed their lives for us.
