CHESS TOURNAMENT

Success at the Inter-zonal Chess Tournament

Ms. Hill and I took a group of 16 students to an inter-school chess tournament at Mordialloc College this week and one of our teams won! 

Our winning team was made up of the following players: Michael Khamatgaleev, Oliver Cordover, Jennifer Morrison, Jennifer McLaughlin and Filia Maualaivao. 

We also had the best performing top three players: Michael (first place), Oliver (second place) and Jennifer Morrison (third place). 

The winning team will go on to the State Finals in October. 

The entire group of 16 students did us proud: David Hollins, Agatha Beare, Sam Ferguson, Tamia Jung-Phelan, Andrey Kostenko, Julian Rees-Marom, Eliot Rey-Benguigui, Stirling Sacre, William Selenger, Ethan Tio and Gavin Xu, as well as the students named above.
