Get to know the Board

John Huigen and Kevin Tutt

St Philip's College is an incorporated as a company and governance is overseen by the College Board. 

 

Over the next few weeks, we'd like to highlight our current Board of Directors, so parents are familiar with who is charge of the College's Strategic Plan. 

 

John Huigen

Deputy Chair

John Huigen was appointed to the St Philip’s College Board in 2017. John has previously held numerous senior management roles in health, science and innovation.  Currently John runs his own company, Huigen Advisory, which provides leadership, strategy and impact coaching and is a facilitator and inspirator, helping leaders, boards and organisations thrive in our ever-changing world.  

 

John is also Chairperson of the College’s Finance Audit Risk Committee. This committee has provided St Philip’s College with considerable financial stability during unpredictable times due to COVID.  John resides in Alice Springs with his family.

 

Kevin Tutt

Board Director 

Kevin was appointed to St Philip’s College Board in 2017.  He comes with considerable knowledge and a wealth of experience in Australian education gained from being principal of two of Australia’s leading independent schools; Prince Alfred College for 16 years and Seymour College for 5 years. 

 

In these roles he developed a significant reputation as one of Australia’s leading educationalists. Between these two Principalships Kevin was also appointed Executive Chair for an educational and community development charity in Cambodia, helping some of the world’s most underprivileged children.

 

Recently Kevin assumed the role as Chairperson of the St Philip’s College Foundation Committee. This committee is extremely active as St Philip’s College commences the ‘Big Build’ which includes; Year 12 recreation area, Outdoor Education Facility, Discovery Centre, Sustainability Learning Centre and a new Maintenance complex.

 

Kevin now resides in WA enjoying the peace offered in Denmark, a small town south of Perth, to be close to family. He visits the College regularly.
