Building works at Killester

Killester College Building Project

Senior Learning Centre and extended Kennedy Hall

Over the past ten years the new Kilmaire building was built in place of the portable classrooms Then in 2014 the Helen Toohey building was gutted, extended and refurbished. Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 students now have modern facilities. Then in 2020 the beautiful Tullow Centre was completed for Music and Drama faculties. Consultation with staff, students and families confirmed that new facilities for our Year 11 and 12 students were a priority. As the Kennedy Hall, built in 1987, needed refurbishment and the two projects sat side by side, it was decided to proceed with both at the same time. This build will create six Year 11 classrooms, six Year 12 classrooms, two P.E. classrooms, a Year 12 common room, full size basketball court and assembly space along with offices and storerooms. A stylish new foyer will be welcoming to our community and visitors. Due for completion in May 2023, all our students will have modern, comfortable facilities and the new building, extending closer to Springvale Road, will provide a striking impression of the College to all.
