NPS Shooting Stars V Strathmerton PS

Friday the 13th of May was a lucky day for the Shooting Stars as we were facing the Strathmerton netball team at the Numurkah Primary school courts.

One of the highlights of the game was our teamwork which enabled us to move the ball down to our shooters who scored some amazing goals. Another highlight was that our defence did really well, getting rebounds that we had previously practised in a drill. Overall NPS Shooting Stars won the match by 23 to 10. Great job to all players on both teams!

 Softball Report

The two NPS softball teams (the Mighty Batters and The Question Marks) had a great game of softball on Friday 13th of May.

The game started at 12.45. The Question Marks were batting first with the Mighty Batters fielding. There were lots of great hits, catches and fielding from both teams.

The highlights for both teams were getting home runs, catching the ball and running the bases.

After two innings the game ended with The Question Marks making 13 home runs and the Mighty Batters 11. The Question Marks won the game, but it was very close. Good job to both teams.

 Footy Report

On Friday the 13th of May, the Numurkah Primary school football team went up against the Strathmerton football team. It was at our home ground, the Numurkah football oval. It was a tough game. Both sides had a great game but sadly Strathmerton came out on top by three points, and they had to leave at 3 quarter time, giving them only an hour to get back to Strathmerton.

The game was very enjoyable. There was great movement of the ball by hand and foot, and we used the wings better than last time. Our best on ground players were Noah for his amazing grabs, Billy for trying his best even though he was really tired and Matty for his excellent ruck skills. Strathmerton also had some really good players too.

We all played a good game and thanks to the cross-country runners that ran fast enough to get back and join us.

NPS Poisonous Dreams V Strathmerton PS

Friday the 13th of May wasn’t such a lucky day for us, although an awesome Netball game took place at Numurkah Primary School’s netball courts during lunch: Strathmerton vs Numurkah Poisonous Dreams. We had Bonnie from the Numurkah Secondary College helping to coach our Netball team and we had two Strathmerton players because we were two short on our team.

In all four quarters, all the players in our team tried their best they could. We had some excellent defence throughout the game. Thanks, Peyton for getting us that one goal! The Strathmerton played an excellent game, intercepting us and shooting seven goals by the end of the match.

The highlights for us all were our defensive skills and our throwing and catching. Shaely used her height to our advantage several times throughout the match. It was an awesome game, but sadly we lost. We all shook hands with our opponents and said “Good game, good job!”
