Music News

In Music classes, the Prep students have been finding and keeping the beat by using their bodies and various instruments to keep in time. In music lessons you will hear them singing and playing lots of warm up games, dancing to music and playing instruments. Some students have even played us a piece of music on the piano! 

The Grade 2 students have been putting their learning from the semester together to write and play their own rhythms. Some students started putting lyrics to their pieces and many tried playing their piece with a backing beat. 

We have played lots of games to work on their ability to hear, record and play various rhythms. The Grade 2s have also been doing lots of singing and moving to music of different genres. They’ve loved playing the colourful Boomwhackers which are tuned percussion instruments, to play a range of popular songs.
