Blood Challenge

Become a part of the Kinross Wolaroi School’s team for this year's Billy Drop School's Challenge...

Do you regularly donate whole blood or plasma, or would you like to start? June 1 2022 marks the start of the Orange Billy Drop School's challenge, which runs until 31 October this year. The challenge is a well-established annual blood challenge in the Orange community (this is its 9th year) where local schools come together to help save lives via blood donation.

This year LifeBlood is aiming to help save 1,500 lives, with 500 donations with this Challenge.

How do I join the Kinross Wolaroi team?

All you need to do to join the team is to let the LifeBlood staff know when you go in to donate that you wish to be a part of the Kinross Wolaroi team OR alternatively you can log into your account and join the team there, under the "My Teams" link and search "Kinross Wolaroi School": https://my.donateblood.com.au/app/myteams_home

Who can join the team?

Any adult (18+) who is connected to your family - parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents. ALSO - if you have a family friend or extended family member who regularly donates, you can ask them to join the our team too (they don't need to live in Orange!)

You can see which schools are involved, and keep an eye on the tally of donations, at this link:

Thank you in advance for taking part in this life-saving challenge.

In you have any enquires please email Mrs Eve Straw, Kinross Wolaroi Parent, eve@davcha.com.

Shout out to our Casual Staff and Facilities Manager!

Over recent weeks our small group of amazing Casual Staff have worked tirelessly to cover classes in the DPA, providing our depleted Academic Staff much needed support in covering staff absences due to illness. On behalf of the Kinross Wolaroi community I would like to acknowledge and thank our Casuals and Mr Brendan Curran, our Facilities Manager, for keeping the DPA functioning as an efficient learning space for classes during this time.

Reminder to complete your MMG Survey.

In recent weeks Parents and Guardians have been emailed links to the MMG Education Surveys. The feedback provided in these surveys is vital for our ability to review and improve our processes across the school. These surveys are still active, and we kindly invite all Parents and Guardians to complete.

Enjoy the long weekend!

A reminder that this Friday is a pupil-free day. Best wishes for a happy and refreshing long weekend with friends and family. Safe travels and stay warm!
