First Aid

The colder weather has arrived. This brings with it colds, flu and the ongoing Covid epidemic. RAT tests are available for your child to collect from First Aid or Student Services. If your child is a close contact of a positive Covid case they must wear a mask when indoors outside of the home and perform daily RAT tests on school days.It is recommended you discuss with your doctor or pharmacist having your child vaccinated against the flu.

Students with Asthma should follow their action plan from their Doctor. If a preventer has been prescribed evidence suggests regularly taking the preventer reduces the risk of an acute asthma attack.

As parents and carers you are able to access your child’s Operoo medical profile and update as changes occur. Changes in your child’s medical status may be temporary or permanent. If for example, your child has a serious head injury resulting in a concussion on the weekend please update his medical profile to reflect this and advise his teachers if there are any sporting restrictions in place.

If your child’s medical condition requires a medical treatment plan we encourage you to make an appointment with your treating doctor to assist school staff to respond appropriately to treat your child.

Please make sure emergency contacts are up to date and the nominated persons are able to be contacted and if necessary collect the student if they are unable to remain at school due to illness or injury.
