Reconciliation Week

Last  week our Aboriginal students and a chosen friend were excited to join in our Reconciliation Week activities.

All classes participated in learning around Aboriginal culture, language, history, research, Art, dreaming stories, traditional games and much more.

On Wednesday Marra Dreaming took the students on a journey through Aboriginal art and dot painting and children were able to learn about Aboriginal artefacts and their uses as well as having a go at basket weaving.

Jarrel a Senior student also led an Aboriginal dance session and we practiced keeping to the rhythm using and decorating clapping sticks.

All students across the school were lucky enough to receive a delicious cookie and staff were treated to a traditional Kangaroo dish and cake.

We would like to thank BIG W Para banks, Coles Greenacres and Bunnings Windsor Gardens for their donations of items to make this week memorable for our students.
