Principal's Report
GOVERNING COUNCIL AGM
Many thanks to the parents who braved the weather to attend our AGM on Monday May 30th.
Andrew Mills has stepped down from Governing Council due to work and family commitments.
We sincerely thank Andrew for his volunteer service to our school.
Andrew has been involved in Governing Council as chairperson or member for 17 years.
Both of Andrew’s sons attended HPS as did Andrew himself for his primary schooling.
He has been an ongoing support for Hampstead Primary School during all those years.
We wish him well and will see him again at the Opening of our renewed Administration area.
Our new Chairperson will be decided at the next GC meeting on Monday June 20 at 2:00pm.
PUPIL FREE DAY
Friday June 10 all teaching and Learning Support staff will be on site undertaking some professional learning in maths teaching practice.
Karly Heffernan – our Maths coach will be leading us through ways we can stretch students learning in maths by providing learning opportunities that provide challenge as well as enable students who need additional support to engage at their level.
AFL CLINICS
Thank you to our PE teacher Vito Mastrapasqua for organising the footy clinics for all classes. Students have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to learn basic football skills from expert coaches.
STUDENT SAFETY
We have several students with long hair. We ask that they tie long hair back. This is a health and safety issue.
HATS
We remind families that our SUN PROTECTION POLICY requires all students to wear a hat every day when outside for play or PE lessons.
This is based on the Cancer Council advice and is related to the levels of UV.
Please ensure your child/ ren have an approved hat to wear at school every day. Students without hats will be required to remain under our shelter sheds during playtimes.
PUBLIC HOLIDAY
Enjoy the long weekend with your family.
We will see you all back on Tuesday June 14th.
Kind regards,
Joy Keddie
