School Council Report

Hello All!

Our last School Council meeting was held on the Monday night before the end of term, so we wanted to bring you a brief update of things that the School Council are currently working on.

For the first part of our meeting, we were joined by the Junior School Council (JSC)!  It was so great to hear all about what they have been working for the first part of the year and all of the School Councillors were very impressed by the effort and enthusiasm of all of the JSC.  There is some really great work coming out of the JSC, so stay tuned for more information from them about this!

Some other key pieces of work our School Council is currently working on include:

  • A tribute book to capture the history of the Miners Rest Primary School and celebrate our expansion and redevelopment
  • A collaboration with Mt Rowan Secondary College and Ballarat High School to look at the current school bus options for travel to and from school from the Miners Rest area
  • Next focus items for the School Council to work on

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all the families and individuals who purchased commemorative pavers earlier this year.  We sold 137 pavers that will take pride of place in the pathway of our soon to be developed Reflection Garden!

If you would ever like to reach out to ask any questions or raise any issues that School Council may be able to assist with, please feel free to make a time to see Kylie or email me at any time and I’ll be happy to chat with you (larna.woodyatt@education.vic.gov.au)

Take Care!

Larna Woodyatt, School Council President
