Out Of School Hours Care

OSHC News

My Time Our Place

During week 5 and 6 the children have been involved in a variety of activities in the OSHC room, on the playground, in the quadrangle and in the gym. At the quadrangle the older students engaged in a basketball game which encouraged team work and allowed the children an opportunity to be active whilst developing their social skills. The younger children were excited to play in the nature play area and use chalk to draw pictures on the bitumen. The educators will aim to take the children to the quadrangle once per week to provide the children with a variety of play spaces.

This week was also Book Week which saw inspiration flowing profusely into the children’s arts, crafts and conversations. The children demonstrated confidence as they explained who they dressed up as and took pride in explaining why they chose their character. Book Week is a great opportunity for the children to show their unique identity and express their individual personalities.

In the OSHC room the children took inspiration from Book Week to create craft items such as swords, wands, shields and time machines. The children utilise our recyclables when creating crafts and enjoy using common packaging items to create new things. Overall it has been a very busy week at OSHC with the children participating in an assortment of activities.
