Parent Education Evening

Thank you to the families who took time out of their already full schedules, to attend the Parent Education Forum last night - Read like a Writer, Write like a Reader.  The evening gave insight into the approaches to reading and writing at LNPS, with a strong emphasis on dispositions for learning.

The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive with comments like:

“Just a note to say thank you and congratulations on such a great education event last night.

It was well run, informative and lots of take outs to support learning at home. I think this is the best one I have ever been to! I suspect that as I gravitate towards reading and writing myself, that might give me some bias.  There was strong parent attendance too – well done! The handouts were great and maybe we can post the infographics on Facebook and share with parents who didn’t attend but are still interested.”

“Very good presentation last night. Well done.  I think it was even more useful to parents than previous parents in education (PIE) week talks. Sorry I had to absquatulate afterwards. I was so hungry!”

During the evening parents shared strategies they use at home to encourage reading and writing, which will be shared in subsequent iNewsletter articles. If you would like your own Read 20 minutes a day reminder magnet and the LNPS Learning @ Home  handouts produced especially for the forum please see Natalie or Rosemary.  Stay connected to learn more about how to support your child’s learning at LNPS.
