Tertiary Open Days are here!

Attending Open Day events is a must for prospective tertiary students and their families as they provide unique and valuable opportunities to explore tertiary course options, learn more about courses of interest from academics and current students, whilst checking out the tertiary institution's facilities and services. Any student considering tertiary study in the next few years are encouraged to attend Open days – they are a great investment of your time and preparing beforehand will see you benefit the most from your Open day experience. VTAC Year 12 Guide – Researching Courses and Applying

VTAC’s online Year 12 Guide provides information about researching tertiary courses, including meeting course requirements and guiding you through the stages of the VTAC application process, including applying for courses, SEAS, and Scholarships.  It also links to the VTAC guide to Researching Tertiary Education containing detailed information to support your research journey – this downloadable guide covers:

REMINDER: VTAC Information Webinars for Year 12 parents/guardians

VTAC’s community information webinars have commenced with multiple sessions running of two types of webinar, one on 'Applying for courses in 2023' and the other about "Understanding special consideration (SEAS) and scholarships". Those supporting students during the VTAC application period are encouraged to attend and can register here: www.vtac.edu.au/events

University of Melbourne Residential Colleges Applications and Open Day Tours

Are you a Year 12 student interested in attending the University of Melbourne and need to find accommodation? 

Applications for Colleges are now open at: www.colleges.unimelb.edu.au Students can use one application form to indicate their order of preference for which colleges they’re interested in applying for and staff from the colleges will follow up with an interview. All ten Residential Colleges will be open for the Unimelb Open Day on 21 August 10am-4pm. Hear from current students, meet the academic and pastoral care staff, learn more about our scholarship programs and discover the best of residential college clubs, societies, events and leadership opportunities. Lunch/refreshments will be served at each College. Register here.

La Trobe Aspire webinars running up to 13 September 

A reminder that the La Trobe Aspire Early Admissions Program is open for Year 12 applications. La Trobe’s upcoming Aspire webinars are designed to help students discover how Aspire can give them a head start. Webinars will cover eligibility criteria and the application process, along with providing students with the tips they need to ace their applications. Cyber Academy starting 2023 – open for expressions of interest 

The Cyber Academy is home to Australia’s most unique, innovative educational program, and they’re throwing the doors open for the first time in 2023. The Cyber Academy is an exciting, inclusive, one-of-a-kind program co-designed by industry, education and government to fast-track students into a career in the cyber industry and boost Australia’s sovereign cyber capabilities. They have partnered with exceptional education providers to deliver a personalised, fully immersive, and supportive educational experience with Swinburne University of Technology in Victoria or University of Wollongong and TAFE NSW in NSW. 

The Cyber Academy’s three-year degree – which includes an ‘earn as you learn’ apprenticeship program to fast track students’ cybersecurity careers – will make sure that graduates can hit the ground running and add value quicker. The program combines blended study with employment at either a Government Department, an industry partner or Deloitte (committed to taking 10% of all program students). All successful graduates will receive nationally recognised qualifications. Interested students are encouraged to read all the info provided here to find out more about the program, careers in cyber and how to join. The first step is to express your interest and then Cyber Academy will guide students through the rest of the process step by step, directing them to the appropriate application pathway for their degree at Swinburne University of Technology or University of Wollongong/TAFE NSW.

Applications to Study at NIDA in 2023

2023 Pinnacle Foundation Scholarship Applications now open 

The Pinnacle Foundation is a national charity that provides Scholarships and mentoring to LGBTIQ+ students between the ages of 18-27 who are planning to study full-time at a public institution of higher education in Australia, for the purpose of gaining an educational or vocational qualification in any profession, trade or the arts. Applications close 31 August 2022. To apply for a Pinnacle Foundation scholarship students need to meet the eligibility criteria and then complete the online application. JCU Careers in Health Webinar Recording

Check out the recent JCU Careers in Health webinar presented by Professor Richard Murray, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Tropical Health and Medicine at James Cook University to be inspired by the wide range of career options available in the human and animal healthcare industries. If you are interested in JCU application-based programs (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Dental Surgery, and Bachelor of Veterinary Science) this webinar also provides information to help you confidently complete your application, and provides insight into other course options you could select for your preferences.
