Australian String Quartet

This Friday, Albany is very lucky to have a concert presented by the internationally renowned Australian String Quartet in the Wesley Uniting Church at 6.00pm. We are very excited to have the quartet also present a short concert for every child from Years One to Twelve involved in an ensemble or learning a classical instrument here at GSG on Friday morning. Approximately 160 students will enjoy a short concert by these amazing musicians. I would encourage families to make the most of this rare visit by the ASQ to Albany and attend either their short concert in the Wesley Uniting Church on Friday evening or their collaborative performance of the critically acclaimed “Impermanence” with the Sydney Dance Company on Saturday evening in the Albany Entertainment Centre at 7.30pm.

Red Moort Exhibition & Degustation Dinner

We are busy preparing for the Whole School Arts Exhibition ‘Red Moort’ inspired by the flora and fauna found in our local area, particularly the Red Moort reserve on Monjebup Road, Boxwood Hill. This will open on Sunday 11 September at 3.00pm and will feature artwork from students throughout the school and Media films from Middle and Senior School.

As an extension to our exhibition this year, we are excited to announce that there will be a seven course degustation dinner at an alfresco site close to the exhibition on Sunday 11 September. The dinner will be prepared by Fervor, a Western Australian company who provide incredible ‘pop up’ dinners using native Western Australian produce. Their renowned chef, Paul Iskov, will be preparing the degustation dinner to complement the exhibition theme of the Red Moort eucalypt tree found near the Stirling Ranges. This will be a food experience not to be missed under the trees by Oyster Harbour enjoying unique cuisine that will rival some of the best fine dining experiences in the world. Tickets for this event will be available in Week Three through TryBooking.
