Book Week

Book Week 2022 kicks off next week with our annual Book Week Parade on Monday 22nd August at 9:00 am.

We are so looking forward to seeing your creative Book Week Costumes on parade. Parents and toddlers are welcome to join in the fun!

School Closure Day: Staff Professional Development Day

Please remember that tomorrow, Friday 19th August is a School Closure Day: Staff Professional Development Day. Students do NOT attend school on Friday.

New Art Teacher

This week I introduced our children to our new Visual Art teacher Ms Mimmalisa Trifilo who is excited to be commencing with us the week beginning 29th August.  I trust we will welcome her warmly to our community.

School Athletics Squad

Next Wednesday 24th August our school Athletics Squad will be competing in the Footscray District Athletics carnival to be held at Newport Athletics Track.

We wish them well and trust they will represent our school with pride.

Art Classes

Timetable Changes

Over the weeks leading up to the end of term, our double 'specialist classes'  will be timetabled to allow teachers to plan extensively for Term 4. This however does NOT affect the days on which your child is to wear their sports uniform except for the Year Preps who will need to wear it on Tuesday 6th September and  Year 1/2 who will need to wear their sportsuniform on Thursday 8th September. I'm sure teachers will keep their classes notified.

Footy Colours Dress Up Day

Just planning ahead, on Friday 2nd September we will celebrate the AFL final series with the return of our annual ‘Footy Colours Dress-Up Day’.

On this day children are invited to wear their favourite AFL team colours to school and I hope to see a sea of black and white (Go Pies!)

Parents and Friends Association (PFA)

Last night our PFA met to finalise Fathers' Day arrangements and celebrations. An Operoo Form will be sent to all families today asking for volunteers for our Fathers' Day Breakfast and our Fathers' Day Stall so please keep an eye out for this.

I ask that you also look out for the PFA page which will regularly appear in the  Newsletter as this will detail all events. There are some really exciting things being planned to make this year jammed-packed with fun and adventure.

Learning Conferences

Please note that our upcoming Term 3 Learning Conferences are scheduled for Wednesday 14th September between 2:00pm and 8:00 pm.

Bookings will be as normal and full information will be provided in next week's newsletter

Have a wonderful week,

God bless
