District Athletics

Congratulations to all of the students from Year 3 to Year 6 who participated in the athletics carnival on the 3rd of August. You should all be very proud of your achievements.

A big thank you to Mrs Chesterman, Mrs Smith and Mrs Anderson who attended the day and an extra big thank you to the wonderful parents who volunteered their time to run the score table. Days like these are not possible without all of your help and support.

Below are some reflections of the day by students in grade 5/6.

"On Wednesday the 3rd of August we went to district athletics. When we got there our school found a spot to sit and we all waited for our events to start. The first event was hurdles and our events were last. We were there all day and had a blast. Our whole school tried their best and we came second last. Most importantly a big thanks to all the parents and teachers that helped us have a great day."

"Last wednesday, the 3rd of August, I was at the District Athletics competing for my school. I was first up in the 800 metre and I came 6th.  When I was racing in the 800 metre I went fast at the start then I got tired and I fell back to 6th. Running 800 metres is hard. I had to run 2 full laps of the running track.

Then I watched my friends race because I had to wait for 5 hours until my next race. I was in the 100 metre relay with Lewis, Flynn and Seth. I was running against my friends from football. We came 4th. I had so much fun racing my friends from different schools. I also came 4th in the 100 metre sprint.

Thanks to all the teachers that came and helped to set up District Athletics and to the parents who offered to help on the score table.'
