Book Week

Hi Everyone,

 

Book Week is approaching fast and will be held between the 22nd-26th August.

The theme this year is Dreaming with Eyes Open. There are many ideas Online and you can use your imagination as to the things to do.

 

There will be a Book Fair, an Illustrator visit, Year 5/6 Book Week poster competition with prizes given for best poster and some lucky draw prizes for those who have purchased books from the book fair.

 

Below is a rundown of what and when things will be happening at OLHC for Book Week.

 

Week 6

Tuesday 16th Book Fair arrives.

 

Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th Students will have a chance to view the range of scholastic books and stationery in the library so they can record what they would like to purchase on their Wish List.

 

Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th Students will be viewing and vote for the best 5/6 Book Week Posters. Students and parents can come to the library to purchase their wish list items from the Book Fair after school.

 

Week 7

Monday 22nd winners of the 5/6 Book Week Poster Competition are announced and prizes will be awarded during assembly.

 

Wednesday 24th illustrator Michael Camilleri will be visiting OLHC and speaking to the students about his work as an illustrator. Michael Camilleri is an artist who creates books, comics and visual theater. He won an award for his illustrations in One Minute's Silence, a moving and powerful reflection on the meaning of Remembrance Day.

 

Friday 26th Book Week parade held in the yard at 9am. Students and staff will be dressing up as book characters or themes and walking a parade to celebrate the last day of Book Week. Have a think about who you would like to dress up as!
