Confirmation Dates

If you were unable to attend one of the Confirmation Enrolment Masses last weekend, and you have not previously spoken to Mrs Clarke about this, please contact the Presbytery on 6765 9543 as it is a mandatory part of the Confirmation preparation. 

The children will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday 8th September at 9.00am in Mary Help of Christians Church. 

Please keep our students in your prayers as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

St. Mary of the Cross MacKillop

Today, Thursday 8th August, students celebrated the Feast of St. Mary of the Cross MacKillop. The  Primary children attended a Mass at Mary Help of Christians Church, whilst the Infants children participated in a Campus Liturgy.

Mary MacKillop became known as St. Mary of the Cross when Pope Benedict XVI canonised her in 2010. She was a Catholic Nun who, together with Father Julian Tenison Woods, founded the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart. St. Mary of the Cross and Fr Woods opened their first school in Penola, South Australia. From there, they founded other schools for children who were poor, especially in country areas. They taught about God’s love and being faithful to the Gospels.

The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Next Thursday 15th August, students will be attending a whole school Mass to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It will be held at Mary Help of Christians Church commencing at 10.00am.  Infants students will catch a bus to and from the Church. 

The Assumption marks the end of Mary’s earthly life and she is taken to heaven, body and soul.

Altar Servers

If any students from Years 1 - 6 would like to become an Altar Server for weekend and School Masses, please contact Mrs Clarke at the Primary or Mrs Willis at the Infants. Interested students will be given a permission note that parents will need to sign and indicate which weekend Mass  they prefer to attend.
