Meet a Teacher

Miss Molly Gould

Life before Girton:

Before beginning my time at Girton Grammar School in 2020, I studied a Bachelor of Physical and Outdoor Education (Latrobe University, Bendigo) with a health minor.

Upon finishing University I decided to move to Horsham where I obtained my first teaching job at Goroke P-12 College, a very small school in the remote Wimmera District. A very short two years, as my love for Bendigo saw me return and Girton gave me the opportunity to pursue my teaching career.

What I love about teaching:

The things I love about teaching are the positive relationships you can build with the students and the whole school community. Knowing that in some way you can help a student thrive by nurturing their talents and helping them see the best in themselves.

What is the best thing about teaching at Girton

:It is easily the genuine kindness and support from the whole school community and continually building those positive relationships.

My favourite classroom activity:

Being able to include minor games wherever possible in Physical Education, there is always so much energy, excitement and laughter.

What difference can good teaching make:

Good teaching means students will want to learn from you. Students feel more empowered to learn, they have confidence and focus. Good teaching can transform students to take risks and not to be afraid of the outcome.
