Sandhurst Year 7 Boys Football

On Thursday 6th of May, the Junior Boys Football team played against local schools at the Sandhurst Division competition. The coaches Nash Dignan, Ben Cameron and Seb Morris were impressed with how they played together as a team and the effort they gave all day.

The team had some tough competition and competitive matches against Marist and Bendigo South East College. In the first game Girton played against Marist which was a good battle, Girton came out victors 7-7 49 to Marist 2 points. In the second game the team came up against BSE, which was a good test and a credit to the team for their efforts. They played tough footy and won the game by 11 points.

For the first time in many years, Girton made the Grand Final. Girton played a very tough CMC side in the grand final who were unfortunately too good for the fatigued boys.

Congratulations on finishing 2nd overall for the day. Thank you to Zaydyn Lockwood and Josh Smith for umpiring and Mr Whitsed, Mr Langan and Miss Speed for accompanying the students on the day and making the day possible.
