Year 10

St Bede's Trivia Afternoon

Preparation and plans have been underway for our first get together with the Year 10 boys from St Bede's College. After a year of missing interactions such as our Year 9 Social, it was a popular decision to have the Year 10 levels come together for a series of afternoon activities. 

On 22 April, our Year 10 leaders visited St Bede's for an afternoon of idea sharing and planning. There were some great suggestions shared and new friendships made. Ideas involving sport and theatre afternoons were tabled along with a number of other activities. The first of these to take place will be a Trivia Afternoon to be held on 20 May. Half of each school’s Year 10 students will walk to the other school where they will have a fun afternoon of trivia and games in mixed teams. Leaders from both schools have been responsible for the formation of topics and questions.

Monash Scholars Program

Congratulations to the following students who have applied for the Monash Scholars program:

The program requires a commitment of out-of-school time to attend Monash seminars with other students from around the state. The program is a great way to network with other dedicated students and to gain an insight into the opportunities Monash has to offer.

Elevate

During our pastoral period this week we had Dan from Elevate present to the students regarding time management.  Dan’s animated presentation highlighted the need to prioritise school work and to have a clear plan of when and what is due. He also emphasised the need to have 'down time’ and that breaks for leisure activities are important (though don’t drag them out for too long!).
