Indigenous Immersion

Our Year 10 FIRE Carriers and leaders have been preparing for the upcoming Indigenous Immersion with St Bede's College. The immersion will take place from 26 to 28 May at the Presentation Family Centre in Balnarring. Adam Magennis from 'Kaptify' has put together an itinerary that is sure to deepen their understanding of the Indigenous culture of the Bunurong people. 

Last week the students from both schools met to discuss their reasons for joining the immersion and to share ideas on how they can raise greater awareness about reconciliation with First Nation people. Both groups will meet again to continue planning next week.

Kildare Ministries Student Seminar

The FIRE Carriers and leaders will also be attending the Kildare Ministries student seminar next week on 21 May at Marian College, West Sunshine. The focus of this seminar is on Reconciliation Week, which is from 27 May to 3 June, and how we can develop greater awareness amongst our students and staff.

Building Bridges Program

'Building Bridges' resumes next Wednesday 19 May with our Year 10 students visiting Nazareth College. Once again this program offers the wonderful opportunity for our students to interact and gain a better understanding of the different religious faiths that fashion the culture of their schools.
