Principal's Message

COVID Reminders

A reminder to all Parents/Carers that you need to QR code every time you enter the school grounds, no matter how long you are staying. This is required as a means of tracing in case of a COVID case in our region. We have placed extra codes on the gates to assist with the procedure.

Parking

We know that parking is very difficult around the school and it is often necessary for parents and staff to walk small distances to enter the school. The streets are extremely narrow and

parking on both sides of the road is illegal in some streets as the authorities believe it is dangerous and may result in an accident.

We have been reminded by the parking officer that the bus zone is not a drop off point and that people parked there will receive a fine. We don't want this to happen, so we have placed the witches hats across this area to remind everyone With all that is going on in our lives today, no parents want a parking fine to add to the situation we are now living in.

There can be no drop off or collection of children from the emergency bay outside the school. This must be constantly free from vehicles (staff and parents) in case there is an accident and the emergency vehicles need immediate access.

Supervision

A reminder that the school gates are not open till 8.30am. Supervision of students begins at 8.45am. Please be aware that parents are responsible for their children until this time. If you need to drop your child before this time Camp Australia is available. Please contact them for additional information and costs.

Ambulance Cover

As parents we all hope we never need to use the ambulance service for our child/children.

Unfortunately, life is not predictable, and there may be a time when you need to use this amazing service.  There have been times in my career that I have made the judgement that an ambulance is required in line with my duty of care to those attending the school.

It is the responsibly of the family to ensure that they have ambulance cover in case of such an emergency. The Education Department does not cover this cost.

Please take a few minutes to check  you are covered in case you need to access this service.

Curriculum Day

Please note the first day back in Term 3 (Monday 12th July) is our nominated curriculum day. Parents will be aware that we planned these days well in advance so parents are able to make some arrangements for their child/children. We try and tag these days onto a long weekend or the beginning of the term (rather than the middle of the school week)where possible as this seems to be much easier for our parent community. We will be working under the guidance of our Numeracy Specialist (Lachie Wright) to upskill and further develop the skill level of  all members of our staffing community.

This day has been formally approved by school council.

Many Thanks

I would like to again thank our parent community for their support during Term 2. It has been a bit up and down with COVID again, but with everyone's help and support we have made it through, Please have an enjoyable term holiday break and spend time with the most important part of your life- your family members. Time goes so quickly and these are times to make great memories. Enjoy!

Jenny
