Reading

Thank you to all the parents that attended our 'Literacy Helpers Session' this term. Thank you also to all those that have shown interest in being a Literacy helper in our Prep - 2 year levels. We have not forgotten about you and we will be in touch as soon as possible. We Thank you for your patience and understanding.

One of the best ways to support your child’s education is to read to them. All research shows that being read to has great benefits.

“Children learn to love the sound of language before they even notice the existence of printed words on a page. Reading books aloud to children stimulates their imagination and expands their understanding of the world. It helps them develop language and listening skills and prepares them to understand the written word. When the rhythm and melody of language become a part of a child's life, learning to read will be as natural as learning to walk and talk.” Bernice Cullinan and Brod Bagert

Your attitude and love of reading is what will have the BIGGEST influence on your child’s reading.
