2/3UR - Religious Education

This week in 2/3 UR, the students learnt about reconciliation and its significance for all Catholics. The students learnt two important parables about forgiveness, which Jesus taught his followers. Students listened to ‘The Parable of Prodigal Son’ and ‘The Good Samaritan’. Students then had time to discuss the stories and engaged in a puppet theatre with a partner to retell their story. They shared the significance of the story with each other. Students also wrote out the stories along with any thoughts and wonderings they had. They discussed the importance of asking God for forgiveness, but also understood that God is there to listen to their prayers. Students also shared some different ways they could ask God for forgiveness and felt that the parables Jesus told his followers were good lessons for everyone to follow.
