Principal's News

Mr Rodrigues

Dear Families,

Week 5 for us has been a very busy one as we hit the halfway mark of Term 2. Solid learning is happening at each level and in each of our specialist classes. We know that for many of our children, their art class or science lesson, PE, Sport or Mandarin can sometimes be the highlight of their week. We are very lucky to have such a broad range of subjects and such excellent teachers in each of these areas.  As you may already know, this year in Term 3 we will hold our biennial Art Show which I am confident will be a wonderful community celebration. Ms Georgie and all the classroom teachers are already busy developing ideas and we have a team who will work together to put on a wonderful show.

Lunch Orders

Mrs Capozzo has been working hard to find a new provider for our lunch orders and we are hoping to have this sorted out in the next few weeks. At this stage we will now only have online lunch orders available on Mondays and Tuesdays until a new service have been established.  Our apologies for this inconvenience and will keep you informed as things progress.

Trinity Book Sale

After we missed out on our annual Second Hand Book Sale last year it was just wonderful to be able to organise it this week!

I would like to thank everyone, students, parents and staff, for supporting this lovely event and it was just fantastic to see so many customers who all seemed to be having a great time browsing through the books and picking up some Lucky Dip prizes.

A big thank you too to our Library Leaders, Christiana, Abi and Edi who looked after the stall and got some help from their friends as well.

We had a fantastic time and are looking forward to our big events in term 3, Book Week with our Book Fair and of course the Victoria Premier's Reading Challenge which is ongoing and will finish in September.

Thank you again,

Happy Reading and

Kind regards

Barbara Shaw

Student Leadership

It is very rewarding to see the leadership that so many of our children show each day.  Often this leadership comes in the form of taking on the responsibilities of their assigned leadership positions, like our Library Leaders who did such a great job with the Book Sale or the Mandarin Leaders who make the effort to greet people in Chinese as they arrive at school each day. Creating these leadership opportunities is an important part of what we value at Trinity and it is very encouraging to know that we have so many willing volunteers who readily accept new challenges.  Next week Ms Foley and Ms Georgie will take a number of our Senior School Leaders to visit one of our local Kinders to lead a wonderful Art activity. These experiences really do enable our children to develop their own social skills and confidence.

Family Faith Night

Thank you to all the families who attended our Family Faith Night last Thursday evening and to all the staff including our Religious Education Leader Ms deKort. It really was a great experience for our children who had the opportunity to reflect on some important issues and ideas with their families. These children will receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist as part of their journey ion their Catholic Faith.

AEDC Data Collection

All of our Prep families will have received an information letter this week related to the Federal Governments collection of Data for children in their first year of school. Our Junior Teachers will complete a series of question about each child in Prep and their responses will be included in the Australian Early Development Census. None of the data is used to identify individual children, however, parents can ask for their child not to be included.  If you do not wish your child to be included can you please email me to request an Opt Out Form. principal@tcs.catholic.edu.au

Kind Regards
