Wellbeing

Well-being at GGLPS

It is essential that all students in the school feel safe and know that they belong to a supportive and caring environment. Well-being in a broad sense to us incorporates behaviour management, programs to support students socially and emotionally, and the development of strategies to act responsibly and aid learning. You are encouraged to discuss these ideas and strategies with your children to reinforce what is happening at school.

Exercise

As the winter and colder months creep closer it often becomes harder and harder to be motivated to exercise. The early or late day walks which were once during daylight hours are now replaced with darker, colder, and wetter days. If you are anything like me, I certainly prefer to be tucked away in a warmer place instead of being out in the cold.

As you know exercise is one of the keys to a healthy lifestyle. So as the winter months approach, think of a plan that you and your family can do to keep fit and healthy. Set up some guidelines and expectations and plan for what you will do if it is too cold or raining hard.

The below diagram shows the brain after exercise and it shows how important it is. So, look for ways to exercise.

The Women's and Children's Health Network has some great resources.

Below is another resource for you to look at with your children. There are lots of reasons for exercise, ideas, tips, etc…

Happy exercising!
