LANGUAGES TO SUPPORT THE LITERACY SKILLS OF YOUR CHILDREN
I would like to direct your attention to the following article with the title ´Building a solid foundation: linking literacy and language´ from the British Association for Language Learning. It provides further links to interesting articles about Languages and literacy and gives many reasons why your child should study a language.

NEW CALEDONIA - PRE-DEPARTURE MEETING
33 days before we board our Air Calin flight, we hosted an Information Evening for the parents and students travelling to Noumea. During the meeting, we went through a detailed itinerary so the students know what to expect during the tour. There will be four sessions at a language school, a tour of the city, a visit to the Tjibaou Cultural Centre, a day trip out to the beautiful Amedee Island and time with the host families exploring their town.
We also discussed what to pack, including advice for gifts for the host families. There was time to talk about the practicalities: changing currency, airport meeting points and times, flight times, communication while in Noumea and so on.
The students (and teachers) are very excited about the upcoming tour.
