PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

School Satisfaction Survey

We are trialling a new company for our Satisfaction Survey this year. The surveys are designed to gather feedback from parents, staff and students about our school and will be used to inform school improvement. Responses are confidential and individuals can not be identified.

The surveys  closes on September 9, 2017. We are using the email addresses supplied to the school. If you do not receive an email with a link to the survey on August 28, you can access and complete the survey at the following link. https://www.research.net/r/HolyTrinityInverellPARENT2017

Please take the time to fill in these surveys as they really help us make improvements and set goals.

Thank you for the Father's Day Breakfast and Stall

Thank you to our staff who organised the BBQ breakfast and all the dads, grandads and pops who came.

Thank you to our Father's Day Stall Co-ordinator, Fiona Sinclair, and her band of saleswomen! The students love going shopping!

Our concert is on next week. Rehearsals are underway this week in a big way! Next Tuesday there is the full dress rehearsal on Tuesday. On Wednesday at 10am there is a performance for school students and on   Thursday two public performances at 12pm and 7pm. Tickets are $5 at the door. We would love to see you there.

Congratulations to...

Our Year 9 students who helped last Friday selling merchandise for Legacy. We received great comments!

Sasha Bryant in Year 2 who won the town Legacy Poster Competition and to Brooke Martel who was awarded Highly Commended in the Year 1 section

Mather St Pick up

Just a reminder to families to park in Mather St to collect students from that end of the school. It is extremely dangerous, due to the amount of buses and general traffic, to call students across Moore St. There have been a number of near misses over this term.

Bursary

Financial assistance to parents of secondary school pupils attending Diocesan schools is provided by the Catholic Schools Office. The grants are allocated on a needs basis, measured by the parents/carers gross family income. Applicants for the year 2018 bursaries should be enrolling in Year 7 in 2018 and the assistance continues until Year 10. Application forms are available from Cathy in the Front Office.  Applications close on 22 September.

Naplan online

Well done to students in Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 who trialled Naplan online. The process went smoothly at HTS.

Excursion payments

Year 8 and 9 have been given information about their upcoming excursions. It is important that these excursions are paid in full before departure. If you have concerns around your ability to do this please contact me so other arrangements can be made.

School Advisory Committee

In November our School Board will change to a School Advisory Committee.  Schools across the Diocese will all be making this change at this time. A new constitution and an AGM will commence this change. Towards the end of term we will be calling for nominations for this new body.

Ross Hill P and C invite

We have received an invitation to a meeting at Ross Hill Public School. It is a parent information evening supporting RUOK day on Wednesday 13 September from 6pm to 9pm. Our families are welcome and  encouraged to attend.  Invitation attached.

RUOK Day

The national RUOK day is on Thursday 14 September. We plan to support this day on Friday 15 due to our concert on the Thursday.

Rotary Dinner

Thank you to Gabe Adams, Megan Walsh and Fiona Sinclair who helped last Tuesday night with our Rotary Dinner. Our secondary students also did a great job of entertaining and serving the Rotarians. The dinner is a positive community event.
