Years 10 and 11 Last Day at School

Next week all Year 10 and 11 students will undertake their examinations.

Following the examination period, Year 10 and 11 students are not required to return to school until their final school day of the year on Wednesday 6 December.  This day is important for students for two reasons: it enables them to celebrate the year that has been and it provides an opportunity to prepare for the year to come.

On this day, students will attend Care Group in the morning, during which they will receive their examination results and make sure that their lockers are clean and empty.  During the morning there will be a special program in which students will meet their teachers for 2018 and be given an overview of the subject requirements.  In some cases, particularly for Year 12 subjects, teachers may issue some holiday reading tasks.

There will also be some time for students to catch up informally with each other before the holiday break and to rehearse for the final service in the afternoon.

The final service for Year 10 and 11 students will begin at 2.00pm, and parents are warmly invited to attend. During the service we will celebrate the achievements of Year 10 and 11 students, award academic and other special prizes and give thanks to God for his blessings during 2017. The school day should conclude at around 3.15pm.

Middle Years End of Year Activities

On the final day of Term 4, Tuesday 12 December, all Year 7, 8 and 9 students will be involved in special year level activities. Further details and consent forms will be provided by the Year Level Leaders later next week. The day will begin at the usual time.  Students will be dismissed from the College at 2.00pm.  The College will provide supervision for students who are unable to be picked up by parents or who travel via our College buses to Good Shepherd and Golden Grove. These buses will be running at normal times.

A friendly reminder also that you are most welcome to attend the Middle Years Final Service for 2017 which will take place on Monday December 11 from 1.45 – 3.00pm. This service will celebrate the achievements of many of our students in Years 7, 8 and 9.

On Monday 11 December at 6.30pm, Year 9 students and their parents/caregivers will take part in The Voyage - “The Arrival Ceremony”.  A letter will be sent home with more details early Week 7.
