Winton News

At the end of Term 3, the Winton Cluster year 12s were able to share an afternoon of reflection, reminiscing and positive discussions about life ahead. Reflection Day 2016 saw our students take final steps towards completing their Catholic Regional College Sydenham journey. The students completed their green crosses, symbols of their time in the Sydenham community that began way back in orientation week 2014. It was an absolute delight to be able to see the positivity, to hear the positivity, and to read the positivity as students shared memories and wishes on affirmation cards. Showing the depth of their appreciation, Winton students wrote heartfelt thank you messages to the teachers of our community who had played such a vital role in the contribution to these young adults’ education. As a Catholic community, it is always a blessing to be able to share a meal together and having this opportunity on the day was an absolute highlight. Students weren’t defined as Winton 1, 2, 3 or 4 but were free to mingle and engage as a whole Winton Year 12 cohort. 2016 Cluster Leader Mikhaela Cugliari and 2015 Cluster Leader/2016 Sports Captain Danielle Maugeri led a wonderful reflection for the students, taking the moment to thank their hard working and ever supportive tutors who have been with them and supported every step on their journey.  To end the day, a short video of memories showing their time together in the past two years was shown to lots of laughs as memories of their brief but busy time at Catholic Regional College Sydenham brought back a range of emotions. As Cluster Coordinators, we are immensely proud of the efforts all Year 12 Winton students have put in at Sydenham and congratulate them on their success to this date, wishing them all the best for their bright futures.
