Parents & Friends Association News

PFA in action!

The PFA were pleased to help out at the recent Careers Expo held at Nossal on the 27 July. They served free tea and coffee to help keep everyone refreshed during their visit to this very successful event. We are so lucky that our wonderful school put this Expo on for our children and parents. It was extremely valuable to receive detailed information from many different universities from Melbourne and even Interstate on the different courses and options open to our brilliant scholars. These included University of Melbourne, ACU, Deakin, Monash, RMIT, Swinburne, Central Queensland University, WEP Student Exchange and Photographic Studies College. There were also many different talks given by Nossal Alumni  on VCE, including ATAR, goals and motivation, degrees offered, scholarships, pathways into medicine and many other interesting topics for our students. If you were unable to attend this year, I highly recommend taking your children next year, even if they don’t attend Nossal. The earlier they go and get this information, the better it will help them with course selection.

As many of you may have heard, unfortunately the WABID Charity Dinner in July had to be cancelled due to lack of numbers. If you still wish to donate to the Kids Cancer Project charity, please contact the Office or Mr Page. This would be added to the funds already raised by the school.

We are currently looking for new fund-raising ideas and welcome any input from anyone. If you are not able to attend one of our very friendly meetings, please feel free to email Mr Butler, who faithfully attends every PFA meeting, or our Principal Mr Page, who attends most meetings as well, other commitments permitting. Their email addresses are:

Keith.Butler@nossalhs.vic.edu.au or Roger.Page@nossalhs.vic.edu.au

The PFA’s next meeting is on Wednesday 6th September, between 7-9pm, upstairs above the main office. We would love to see you there!
