Resource Centre NEWS

This week and next week in the Resource Centre we are highlighting indigenous literature and have a range of fiction and non-fiction material on display in addition to a display of indigenous artifacts. Take the opportunity to drop by and take a look at the display and choose one of the wonderful books by the authors: Aunty Joy Murphy and Lisa Kennedy, June Walkutjukurr Richards, Percy Trezise, Gayle Kennedy and Ross Carnsew, Sally Morgan, Minoota Pootchemunka, Mary Walberg and Alice Kowearpta, Glenda Andrew  and Magdalene Williams to name a few. Learn about their journeys, culture and dreaming and hopes for the future.

Chess

Some lively games of chess are being played in the Resource Centre across all year levels at recess and lunch breaks. These games are attracting chess enthusiasts as well as those who enjoy being spectators to this wonderful engagement of the minds. There have been some lengthy tussles and ingenious strategies employed in the process. Chess items are kept at the front desk for those students interested in engaging with others in a game.
