Grade 3

Grade 3 Report
It has been a great start to Term 3 in Grade 3!
It’s wonderful to see our students continuing to work hard and showing enthusiasm and positivity towards their learning.
Our writing sessions have been focused on both narrative and persuasive topics. We have been working on expanding our ideas by including extra detail through the use of adjectives and connectives. The students have enjoyed being able to publish some of their writing pieces on the chromebooks as well.
During numeracy this term, we have been looking at money, symmetry and 3D and 2D shapes. These topics have allowed for some great hands-on learning experiences which have kept the students engaged and excited. In our money unit, the students enjoyed creating their own made-up lunch orders and were eager when hunting for examples of 2D and 3D shapes around our school.
The students are really enjoying our Science Unit this term. We have been completing lots of interesting experiments as well as writing scientific reports. The students have been very eager to participate in the hands-on experiments and have been interested to find out what causes certain reactions.
Our new Integrated unit places focus on disabilities and different abilities that people may experience. The students have been mature and shown empathy when learning about the difficulties that other people may face. We have been having lots of in depth class discussions about the meaning behind disabilities and why we should focus on what someone can do rather than what they can’t do.
We are looking forward to a successful, challenging and fun-filled rest of Term 3!
