Performing Arts

Yet another busy week, full of rehearsals and performances and some dates to check for the last two weeks at school.
Fairview Concert
Congratulations to the students and teachers from Fairview School who presented an amazing concert on Tuesday and Thursday night this week. Over 1000 appreciative audience members grooved along to 'Life Is A Highway'. Thanks to all who helped in getting this show to the stage.
Primary Performing Arts Showcase
Next Tuesday, 5 December, students in Fairview and Cumberland will be sharing the work they have undertaken in Primary Performing Arts classes. An essential element to any vibrant Performing Arts program is opportunities for public performance.
Band Academy
The Band Academy showcased their work on Monday after school, performing three pieces which highlighted their skill development. Thank you to the music tutors who have worked with the students over the year and to Mr Nicholas Frampton for conducting. The Academy model operates on a small group lesson, followed by an ensemble rehearsal. Applications to be part of this great program in 2018 is on a first come basis by collecting a form from the College or emailing
Songsters Performance
Next Wednesday 6 December, Ms Stephanie Pace and I will be taking our Cumberland Songsters to Craigieburn Central Shopping Centre to perform some carols and other repertoire. The performance will be held outdoors at the snow zone, located in Central Square, at 11.00am. Please come and support if you are available.
Presentation Night
We have included a number of items from the Performing Arts Department in the annual Presentation Night on Thursday 7 December. Students need to return permission slips as soon as possible as we will be at rehearsals throughout the day.
